In exchange, Israel freed 183 Palestinian detainees.
The release, part of the fifth such exchange, took place under heavy security, with hostages flanked by armed Hamas fighters.
Unlike previous handovers, the hostages showed no visible signs of emotion as they held up release certificates.
In Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square, large crowds erupted in cheers and tears of relief as they watched the release live on a giant screen.
The Israeli hostages have been transported for medical evaluation as negotiations continue under a fragile ceasefire.
